Peace in Syria?

When I write 'peace in Syria' I don't of course mean the sort of peace that the West gifted to Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Libya, or indeed anywhere we've interfered in the past decade or so, where we've left a legacy of death, terrorism, economic collapse and failed governance. Only the most reality-challenged drug-addled FCO PR person could term those conditions 'peace'. So let's define our terms - what must peace mean for Syria?

No Entry to Salafism - No opportunity can be given to Salafist Islamists, the West's mortal enemies, to increase their power or influence in the region. This includes Turkey, Sunni Iraq, KSA, Kuwait, the gulf states and the various barbarian head-choppers.

Non-sectarian and tolerant society -  A future Syria must allow Shia and Sunni, Christian and Kurd, Alawite and Jew, to live in peace and freedom with no sectarian discrimination. Much as the country worked under Assad before the 'Salafist Spring', which saw deluded fools in Western government mistake Islamist uprisings for democratic urges.

Russian influence preserved - Any settlement must preserve Russian influence and port / military facilities if the settlement is not to lead to wider causes of conflict

Self-determination - Allow the Syrian people to choose their own leaders and form of government - which may not be the same as Western forms of government and self-determination

Safe return for refugees - A safe place to which refugees currently in Jordan, Palestine and Turkey (as well as Europe) can safely return and rebuild.

Now it might be that President Assad actually offers the best opportunity to meet these objectives. I don't know.

However, I am sure that if the US and our own blundering, inept, mistaken FCO conspire to give us yet another Salafist-dominated failed state exporting Islamist terrorism and from which millions of refugees flee, all for the sake of global corporate oil or gas pipes, that we will hang the bastards from the lamp columns in Parliament Square. They're drinking in the Last Chance Saloon over Syria.

Your conclusion of Assad is where I got to as I read down the list of 'requirements'.

The basic premise of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' serves us well here.

IMHO; there has to be a rotating president, something akin to the Lebanonese system, the president to be in the main titular but with some input [national security] into - an executive made up of all the variant factions and a democratic chamber done through PR definitely no FPTP effort - to scrutinize the dictats sent down from the executive.

What happened in the aftermath and the clusterfuck of Iraq - particularly imposing a democratic sectarian government! - must not be able to be repeated in Syria.

It looks as if it will be exactly the same as Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Trump has had his teeth pulled and will now do as he is instructed. Possibly what happened to JFK when he ignored the top brass and did not support the idea of a false flag operation as an excuse to invade Cuba and remove Castro. The head of the military (General Lemnitzer) was moved to be NATO head. "Operation Northwoods"!

Hitchens on another inconvenient truth and al Assads enemies are our 'friends'.............

[...]But in this case, another small detail may make you wonder about what you are being told. In some reports of the alleged atrocity, a supposed ‘British doctor’, Shajul Islam, was quoted or shown on the spot, described as a ‘volunteer treating victims in hospital’.

Actually, he shouldn’t really be called a British doctor. He was struck off the British medical register for ‘misconduct’ in March 2016. The General Medical Council won’t say why.

And in 2012 Shajul Islam was charged with terror offences in a British court. He was accused of imprisoning John Cantlie, a British photographer, and a Dutchman, Jeroen Oerlemans.

Both men were held by a militant group in Syria and both were wounded when they tried to escape. Shajul Islam, it was alleged, was among their captors. Shajul Islam’s trial collapsed in 2013, when it was revealed that Mr Cantlie had been abducted once again, and could not give evidence.

Mr Oerlemans refused to give evidence for fear that it would further endanger Mr Cantlie.

Mr Oerlemans has since been killed in Libya.

So the supposedly benevolent medical man at the scene of the alleged atrocity turns out to be a struck-off doctor who was once put on trial for kidnapping. Does this change your view at all?

It takes a couple of minutes to find this out if you look. But only one major Western news outlet, The Times, has put two and two together. Why is that?

It’s for the same reason that we are in this mess. We wish to fool ourselves and are good at it. [/quote]

FFS, today Fallon has been verbally spreading the shit, this empty headed fucker is a hawk with shit for brains, mind you he is in the pocket of the KSA and a crony toryboy. As Hitchens points out, by proxy: the UK - We help al Qaeda and their mates Isil. Fallon is part of the problem.

I'd hazard a guess that Sultan Erdogan + chums will resist that tooth and nail.

We seem to be seeing regional power plays that resonate mightily with "The Crusades" - and I don't mean the devalued meme promulgated by ignorant lefty fuckwits to portray nasty western Christians kicking pious innocent Mohameddans.

I recommend Thomas Asbridge's book. In some bits the present day characters map straight onto those from some hundreds of years ago... The crazy things people said ... are no worse than the loons we have at the moment who are asserting "climate change" is the cause of the mess in Syria.

The really big question in what's left of my mind is where do the present Iranian rulers see themselves in all this ? - for they are the elephant in the room - the Gulfies and KSA crew I think hate them with a passion that is beyond reason.

With so much disinformation around, the one way one can look at this is who gains from this alleged Syrian government attack on the Freedom Fighters.

It certainly isnt Pres Assad. In fact he has lost. Why should he take this action when he had the assurance of Pres Trump that the USA was no longer in the business of driving him out of office.

The one who gains is Pres Trump, as he shows himself to be a forceful president. It also get the rest of the Deep State Establishment of his back. This establishment was slowly edging its way to his impeachment. Pres Trump has lots to gain.

The Establishment has corralled Pres Trump into the reservation. So the establishment and the Intelligence agencies too have much to gain. Besides they have Pres Trump on board.

I cant think of a single reason why Pres Assad would order a poison gas attack. He has nothing to gain, and much to lose.

Peace in Syria eh? Some hope.

With the likes of boJo the clown, farron (and sadly) Trump in charge you will be lucky if war does not come to yUK.

It is notable that the only calm statements are coming from Putin, Lavrov and Zakhorova.

Sadly, yet another failure by the US and FCO won't see the bastards strung up in Paliament Square.

We are simply too cowed and too cowardly to do that. And, to be honest, we just don't care enough.

Trump is now in trouble. His mantra of America first and no more meddling in the middle east has been shot to bits. Literally. The voters won't like this.

"The New Stockholm Syndrome"

Indeed, for now the USA is relatively safe, the vast majority of their influx is through SA and the Carib but they are only 'safe' for the immediate future. Strewth, if you look further south, even in Argentina to Brazil the Saudi's fund Mosque building. Where the vehicle is also driven by the UN which is under their the Sunni dominated Islamic bloc of Saudi/Gulf influence.
Observe and sometimes with the currect incumbent's wittering surrender missives, I'm [not so] or very sure about the Vatican has given up. I am pretty sure that's why one of the greatest [modern] Church thinkers one Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger was pensioned off, he was just to staunchly Christian for the tastes of the Internationalists, a South American priest much better suited exercising the whim of, the Marxist NWO/DAWA, is he not?

here

and here.

Invasion and a parable; the wolves run wild in the once protected pastures, because the shepherds have been poisoned, waylaid, pilloried, infiltrated and now nigh killed off.

All thanks in large part to our very own Frankfurt school deconstructionists, we have been undone from within and Western Christianity has been replaced by something ever so more malevolent, it's an ersatz Christianity ie Marxism which preaches tolerance but is anything but.
Devilry indeed and when malignant devils like Soros and with his lifetime spent in aiding and deliberately spiking, destroying the Occident, what better 'friend and allies' than obliterating the nation state through mass immigration and a tribe of peoples indoctrinated, encouraged, funded by a Wahhabist dogma of filth out of the Arabian peninsula?

Belief in a doubly poisonous miasma of lies, Marxism and Wahhabism put with, open door borders and mass immigration, we have entered the maelstrom delivered from a very black Hell and here think on Antioch and Constantinople - and they haven't altered on iota.

It is a clusterfuck of such proportions and it is so far gone and I don't see a way out of this shit storm. No exit because, the enablers are our own government - the Westminster arseholes and with social services, quangos and charities all dedicated to blitzing, our destruction - believe it.
Plus, the final irony which will not be lost on the Medina Mullahs and NYC billionaires club - pissing themselves with laughter - through petro dollars or via UK taxes, we build and pay towards our own funeral pyre.

A perfect shitstorm.

ON the day that the Royal Marines numbers have been cut to complement some useless, aircraftless carriers which will probably never leave the Solent.......Daisy may, very presciently - eh? A fekkin genius is she!............... 'has ruled out an adventure in Syria all about something and invasion'.

Ah but that doesn't stop Boris and his broken record - what is it about the FCO - do they hypnotize ministers or, do they [the FCO] subject 'new boys' to weeks of white noise brainwashing and 'reeducation' - God almighty someone please wind him [that tncu Johnson] in!!

And Fallon, has he been sent out to pasture because if not it's way past time - someone did and come to think of it, the whole executive is not even fit for the knackers yard.

44 years of EU diktat from Berlin has caused much of this, a country so dumbed down and a managerial class who can't find their shoelaces let alone navigate north.

FFS, rolling down to hell and the Ropers will pay the ferryman.

Poor old Boris the Turk, rattling his sabre and being kicked into touch by "our allies in Europe".

No sanctions without proof of chemical weapons - they are not quite so easily fooled after our record on being bullshitters in chief for the septics.

We will have to go it alone again - with the merkins of course! Not like on our own in Suez, where they told us to get back in our box!

What a great post. I have taken the liberty of reposting it with a link to this thread.

It wont be long till our churches are burnt, and our vicars and priests, have their throats slit. Its already a reality across the channel. The French are only just beginning to wake up. Maybe its too late for the French, as they killed and then marginalised the church, nuns, monks and priests, in the demonic proto-Maxist French Revolution they so adore.

We are waybegone too. But at least we didn’t go the way of the French revolution and what followed, that destroyed the church, and the traditions of France that it represented, leaving it with no moral and spiritual fibre to defend itself.

Germany too has no moral and spiritual fibre except a vague doctrine of "Tolerance". They have been so browbeaten that they are scared of even admitting that their young girls are being raped in the open, with German police looking on.

A nation is gone beyond recall when it cannot protect its vulnerable and young women. It does not even merit saving. So I’m glad we are beyond the dictatorship of Germany.
