Juncker the maudlin drunker slurs "I love you, I do; you're my besh may'h.."

One of the EU's senior unelected officials, a Herr Juncker, in a speech to other more junior unelected EU officials spoke of his regret that the Euro bloc's sclerotic and feeble economies were failing to compete against a vibrant and growing global economy. Herr Juncker expressed a number of maudlin and saccharine sentiments of the kind one would expect from an unelected official from a very small and insignificant nation who has tasted what it's like to be an elected leader from a large and substantial nation.

In a speech of cloying self-pity as he saw his chances of the world accepting him as the leader of a new nation he calls 'Europe' disappear he blamed his failure on the real Europe's sovereign nations for not surrendering enough of their sovereignty to his cohort of unelected bureaucrats. Of the EU he said "I love you, I do; you're my besh may'h.."

Mr Juncker likes to drink grape brandy for breakfast.

Social workers fear Germanic Devils will scare migrants

Officials in Austria and Bavaria are today faced with a further complication of having thousands of migrant guests - how will they, and especially the young ones, react to the running of the black devils during the traditional seasonal Krampuslaufen?

They have Krampuslauf clubs in the same way that we have Morris dancing, except that in place of bells, sticks, ribbons and pig bladders they have horns, teeth, matted fur, chains and blood-red eyes of fire. However, Bavarian social workers have speculated that Afghan or Pakistani kiddies, brought up on Taliban lullabies and Sharia bedtime stories, will be scared shitless by these demonic folk-creatures. One club, the Steindorf Black Devils, near a refugee camp near the Ossiachersee in Austria claims it has been asked to cancel this year's devil run.

Club members have offered to go in costume to meet the migrants in the daytime prior to the torch-lit procession. So far, the offer has been declined by the social workers.

Chairman of the Kärnten Heritage Society Wolfgang Lattacher suggested putting up posters in migrant languages "that this is an old tradition with us, and they need not be afraid".

1966 and All That

There's an interesting piece in Der Spiegel today that hypothesises that the national mood of feel-good engendered by Germany's 2006 world cup near-win has disguised a nation actually in deep crisis;
The World Cup in the summer of 2006 was a turning point in German history. The country that brought the world the Holocaust had already taken many successful steps toward full rehabilitation -- it had matured into a stable democracy and achieved peaceful reunification. Then, even more remarkably, Germany became something that might have been unimaginable to many: likeable. It organised a perfect football tournament and showed a warm and cosmopolitan side the world had never seen before. The German national team under then-coach Jürgen Klinsmann were even gracious in defeat to the Italians, who took the trophy home.
The author, Markus Feldenkirchen, doesn't draw any parallels with the UK in 1966 (which we, ahem, actually won) but of course the national mood of self-confidence, tiny skirts, cheeky cars, pop music, play for today and experimental sex also disguised a decade of economic collapse, industrial inefficiency and deep seated structural problems that led Tony Crosland to declare "The party's over" in 1974.

So did we emerge better and stronger? Feldenkirchen says of Germany "Failing to live up to one's own high standards and not even trying in the first place are two completely different things". Our dismal foreign policy record since the Falklands, our hypocrisy in our dealings with China and Saudi Arabia, two of the world's most repressive regimes, and our utter lack of a moral anchor suggest that we haven't even been trying.

What don't the Islamists understand about Cameron's extremism test?

David Cameron made crystal clear the criteria for judging whether or not UK Moslems are extremists or not on 19th June in Slovenia; the seven-part test is suitable even for the simplest and most primitive of understandings to comprehend:-

"Do you believe that:-

  • The West is bad - In contrast to immigrants who want to be part of the Western life, a society at the apex of two thousand years of social and economic development, enemies of the nation hate our culture and seek only to exploit and undermine it
  • Democracy is wrong - Extremists believe that our democratic framework is mistaken and that only the Quran and its interpreters, the imams, should dictate law and policy; Islamist dog Anjem Choudary recently harangued British Moslems against voting in the 2015 elections as 'UnIslamic'
  • Women are inferior to men - This gross stupidity lies at the heart of Islamism. They use it to justify forced marriage, child sex abuse, domestic violence, unequal opportunity in the workplace and to silence the voices of a half of our people. Morons.
  • Homosexuality is evil - Many Christians legitimately believe homosexuality to be disordered and unnatural behaviour, yet tolerate those who choose this life. Islamists go far beyond this; If you think throwing gay men off high buildings is justified, as ISIS are doing, you're an Islamist.
  • Islamic doctrine trumps British law - There is no place for the Quran, or Sharia, in British life. We have a set of laws that is both comprehensive and complete in themself and governs fairly the conduct of all our lives. British law is not trumped by any other.
  • The Caliphate trumps the British realm - Those who foolishly imagine it is legitimate to support an insurrectionist sect against the British realm are already guilty of Sedition; to act on this belief makes it treasonous.
  • Violence is justified -  To believe that violence is justified in achieving one or more of the false tenets above is the mark of an enemy of my country. "
 Any Islamist scoring two or more of the above beliefs should now, according to Cameron's latest clarification, be banned from using the internet or attending a mosque, placed on the Extremist Offenders Register and have other civic privileges withdrawn.

Blair a lying little shit - Official

That 'bloody' Blair is a lying little shit has been all but known to many of us for many years - and now a leaked memo from the US has proved it.

That Blair lied to Parliament, the Sovereign and the British people about having committed UK forces in advance of due process is bad enough - but what is utterly damning is that the moronic deluded fool actually believed Campbell's lies about Saddam's threat, and his self-deceit and hubris led him to believe his stupidity 'would yield regional success'. Lunacy and Criminal Malfeasance in Office.

Can we arrest him now, please?

Increase funding for Human Rights lawyers now!

OK, it may be counter-intuitive, but we really need to boost the funding to all the rainbow variety of human rights lawyers bringing cases against the UK in the ECHR. The more absurd the case, the more outrageous the claim, the better. All pre-referendum, of course.

Yes I know the ECHR has nothing to do with the EU, but you try telling that to the 98% of the British public who believe they are one and the same evil. And the 'No' campaign can bleat about the difference to their hearts' content to no effect.

So ECHR cases for Muslim shop workers offended by sausages ("a haram pork product in the shape of a male member"), Islamic mums banned from wearing their burqas in the municipal swimming pool, Boco Haram killers complaining about the BBC World Service are all welcome; the more risible, the better. They can join the queue of Taliban killers waiting to sue Our Boys for daring to return light weapons fire at them in Afghanistan.

Migrant tales
=========

Perhaps only Nick Drew will recognise Fallingbostel barracks, once home to Hitler's panzer divisions and the Norwegian SS and more recently as a BAOR home from home (Aldershot with Bratwurst). It may have been good enough for Our Boys but not, it seems, for Iraqi and Afghan migrants. Despite the German police doing their best to direct a wave of migrants here they refused to board the coaches - having their own very clear idea of exactly where they want to be looked after. They pick places where relatives or friends have a foothold already, or places they have found on Facebook, and view the duty of the Germans as getting them there and then finding them decent accommodation - which certainly doesn't include a barrack block dating from 1934 named after the patron saint of Gunners.

Alpine Pass report
================
Well, the Austrian army and even the police have given up guarding the Alpine pass at Wurzenpass. They've left a shedload of shiny new cones and lane layouts to deter illegals but that's it. To be frank, I can't imagine many migrants making the climb on 20% gradients with hairpins that need first gear for several stretches - they prefer to stick to railway track gradients, i.e. minimal ones, it seems. They'd like Norfolk ...
