Miliband promises to increase jobless, raise prices

Labour's Miliband has promised to increase unemployment in Britain and raise the cost of the weekly shop if Labour is elected. Or at least he's promised to end 'zero hours' contracts, which is the same thing. Labour market flexibility such as we have in the UK allows more people to share more equally in the 'work pool', lets firms keep factor costs down as they can vary their inputs relative to fluctuations in sales and overall creates a leaner, more efficient economy. It also helps get the best people for the job, and keeps tax liabilities legal and complied with.

The alternative, favoured by Miliband's Socialist chums in France and Spain, is secure, highly paid contractual jobs-for-life for a favoured few (trade union members, you can guess) with casual work with no contracts at all for the rest - and no contracts mean no legal protection, no insurance, no safety liability and lots of tax evasion. The Miliband system relies on cronyism, nepotism, the closed shop, bribes for jobs and all the fraud and corruption that follows Socialism everywhere. Don't forget from which party the most greedily corrupt MPs came.

Forget their public guff about equality - Labour always favours a 'it's who you know' system rather than a genuine meritocracy under which all have a fair chance. The stench of old-Labour corruption wafts from Miliband.

Funny how Labour bleat on about the "cost of living crisis" but when you examine their policies they want to make everything dearer.

"Miliband promises to increase jobless, raise prices"

Don't tell me that Miliballs has decided to adopt EU withdrawal as a policy...

As Nick Clegg will attest...

That is what happen if we leave the EU!

The last comment kicks off the EUSSR pre-election trolling. Pathetic.

Most humans notice that every day the light goes, followed some hours later by the light returning again.

A slightly smaller group of humans notice that when the Labour Party enters office the nations finances are generally healthy, and when they leave office the nation is broke.

From Ramsay MacDonald to Gordon Brown* the story is the same, economic competence followed by economic incompetence.

* you don't tell the markets that you are going to sell hundreds of tons of gold next week. Wanker.

The second to last comment makes no sense, nor has any point.

Particularly as the writer has missed the point that the person to whom he was directing his pointless comment and uncalled for epithet, was making.

Frankly Mr. Shankly...

Raedwald - this is a good and helpful post. Well done for gathering all these eu-socialist characteristics into a comprehensive list!

I am sick to the core -- of these foreign poseurs telling the British what to do, and counting themselves as us/. The millipede tribe (and its doctrine) is an import from somewhere in eastern europe. Similarly, clegg's lot are 'elites' from elsewhere in euroland - where he was openly trained - and his wife can't even pretend to be British.

That we lend half an ear to any of them is a sign of how low we've fallen. Britain: WAKEY WAKEY!!!!

PS: I suspect the touch of irony - in the second post. Hope I'm right.

Yes, I also thought the post was ironic.

More twaddle
Try this

HMRC "interested" in a major construction company trying to cheat it's employees.
And "Zero-Hours" contracts are a disgusting scam.
You have to hold yourself available, the whole time & can't take other work.
Different from "As-&-when", where you are on a list & are asked to work, if available (I do this for part-time extra money) - if not, then they go elsewhere, but on zero-hours, you are dumped.

NOT that this is to be thought of, as in any way, shape or form, supporting the Labour party, incidentally.
In this case, you are both wrong ....

Though you got some of it right:
and no contracts mean no legal protection, no insurance, no safety liability and lots of tax evasion
That's what zero-hours & fake self-employment mean, actually.

ONS stats.....labour management of the economy was good...debts paid off, then borrowing to build-up NHS etc. But still well within reason. Then the banks and the rest of the financial sector sunk the world economy. Funnily enough, they also fund the conservative party to the tune of over 50 million....hmmmm
